Improving Child Well-being in Champaign County by Promoting Healthy Children, Strong Families, and Thriving Communities.

The Champaign County Family and Children First Council is a partnership of local government and community social service agencies that provide services to children and families. The Council is committed to improving child well-being and empowering families. We know that healthy children and strong families create healthy communities. The Council works to make sure that needed services and supports are available and accessible to families – giving every family the opportunity to meet their full potential and thrive.

The Council is responsible for the operation of the Help Me Grow, Child and Family Team Wraparound program, and the Champaign County Drug Free Youth Coalition.

Early Identification of problems in a child’s development is important. Parents and caregivers are their child’s first teacher and know the most about them. Council operated programs encourage parents and caregivers to be engaged, empowered, and confident in addressing their child’s needs.
